Announcements Regarding Our November 16 Meeting

Hello All! For our upcoming meeting on November 16:

(1) Please bring your journals you are keeping on an ongoing basis containing your reflections and questions related to our class.. (Please remember I am supposed to be looking at these regularly in order to confirm your progress.)

(2) Please identify any Scripture passages you identify where you think the nature of God is discussed. Remember that these will complement the Scripture passages we discussed at our last meeting that discuss how God regards we humans.

It would be helpful if you post (as a reply to this post) the locations of any Scripture passages you identify regarding the nature of God so that we can all look them up and think about them.

(3) Related to our Scripture passages, I think two questions we will want to discuss together on November 16 will include: (i) What kind of being is God? and (ii) Can we prove that God exists?

(4) Thanks to all who have already made introductory posts on our web log. If you have not yet done so, please make an introductory post (as a reply to the Introductory Post of this web log)

Take care all and I hope you are having a great start to your November! Take care, ~Peter

  1. I find it a bit difficult to navigate through this blog and I believe many in our diaconate class are not familiar with this type of academic approach.

The questions you posted as a discussion questions for this Sunday's class are questions that the church has been dealing with since Christ gave his Spirit to his Father and returned to whence he came- heaven. I look forward to the comments that will be shared that day in class.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Our HUmanity and our existance belongs to God and comes from God for he created us in his image Gen:1:27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them....

If God said it is so, why then does man question truth itself, because there are times when man like lucifer are blinded by our own perceived light (ego, pride), not recognizing that the light comes from God our creator.

    1. Hello David, I hope you and your family had a great Thanksgiving! I am in Tucson Arizona at the moment, visiting a seminar at the University of Arizona. I attempted to upload the links to two very short selections of passages for our class. WOuld you ming trying to visit the two new posts and try to access the short pdf files I tried to post?

I agree that this web log is hard to navigate. I'm going to try to learn a more user friendly system but I am not very Internet savvy! Thank you David and take care, ~Peter
